Los Osos Auto Body Shop - "Quality, state-of-the-art repairs since 1985." The Robertson family opened the Los Osos chapter of their lives when they moved to the community in 1985. Their fledgling business proved so fruitful that it outgrew its building in the first year. So, with typical top-drawer tenacity, the Robertsons’ asked Los Osos architect Jeff Van Lith to come with something “that wasn’t ordinary, that didn’t look like a body shop,” Rose Robertson recalls. “We wanted something the people of Los Osos could be proud of.”
Their current operation fits that bill nicely. Tucked into a eucalyptus grove near Los Olivos on 11th Street, Los Osos Auto Body simply does not look like a place where battered and bruised cars are nursed back to health.
The shop looks more like a castle, with carefully nurtured flower beds than a body shop. This reflects not only the Robertsons’ orderliness and love of pleasant surroundings but also their understanding of the psyche of most car owners.
